The match in June marked the start of another string of big wins for Rodrigo Garrido. The veteran spent 23 days in the hospital due to pneumonia, 15 of which were in the intensive care unit in a coma. After beating his illness, he returned to poker with championship hunger and has already won two trophies on the country’s top circuit.

Last month, Garrido competed in the BSOP Winter Millions in Sao Paulo and won podium Event 35: R$2,000 NL Hold’em Freezeout Turbo. He won R$58,730 after beating 154 players.

Garrido also won today’s KSOP GGPoker Premium in Rio de Janeiro. After being KO’d in Game 8: R$1,500 NL Hold’em Super Turbo After collecting 10 prize money, the Pay4Fun ambassador took home another gold medal. In total, this knockout round earned the players of Balneário Camboriú 19,000 reais.

“I’m not going to play all the games. I’m still recovering and I’m not at 100% yet, so I’m tired.” “Hurry up. I’m not going to overextend the grind and pick the best shape. I’ll stick to my plan, but now I’ll take it easy,” Garrido told MundoPoker portal reporter Augusto César.
