For the third year in a row, players from the country will take part in PokerStars’ premier high rollers, the $5,200 Titans. In yet another SCOOP tournament, Felipe “lipe piv” Boianovsky and Pedro “PaDiLhA SP” Padilha battle it out for another title at the popular festival.
The first day ends with a “lipe piv”. In third place is 5,222,432 chips and about 43 BBS. He fielded pro Sam Grafton and commanded the FT formation in Sunday’s final inning. Here’s what happened:
With 60,000/120,000 blinds and a 15,000 ante, Grafton opened with 11 BBS straight from the top. “lipe piv” then defended the big hand and called A♠10♥. The Englishman dominated with J 10♣ but had no chance on 2♠6♦9♣3♥K♥.
Rodrigo Seloun is also close to reaching the final table. He finished 10th for $11,863. In parting, the 9tales ace risked 14 BBS by calling a 4-bet all-in from Lex Veldhuis and submitting A♥J♦. With A♠K♣, Dutch pushed 8♦9♠6♥2♥3♠ on the board and took another bounty.
Padilha will also have 3,736,676 chips at his disposal. If he wins, he will become the country’s first five-time SCOOP champion.
The finalists will return to their seats at 1:30pm (Brasilia time) with blinds of 60,000 / 120,000 and an ante of 15,000. In addition to prize money, the winner will receive $71,022:
